Does NFTLP offer any programs for Pre-K children?
We do! NFTLP is excited to offer Early Literacy sessions specifically designed with families like yours in mind! We fully understand and respect your choice to spend that last year before Kindergarten with your child...there really is no better place than home!
We want your family to have the best of both worlds! Our Pre-K sessions offer an hour of pre-literacy and early literacy activities that will provide a strong Reading and Literacy foundation for your child before school actually starts...for about $10.00 an hour!
We want your family to have the best of both worlds! Our Pre-K sessions offer an hour of pre-literacy and early literacy activities that will provide a strong Reading and Literacy foundation for your child before school actually starts...for about $10.00 an hour!
You can expect your child to take part in rich literacy building activities every day he/she receives instruction. A certified teacher (holding a M. Ed. with currrent State of Georgia Certification and Specializing in Reading and Language Arts instruction) will guide your child's rapidly evolving concepts of print, phonemic awareness, sound/symbol correspondence, and word study. Through daily "read alouds" your child will learn proper intonation, rhythm and rhyme. Your child will learn how to share ideas with others in our daily Circle Time, gaining valuable experience with both listening and speaking. Participation in drawing, games and other enriching activities will help your child to develop a love of reading that will prove useful in the school aged years and beyond.
Your Pre-K child will take part in actual reading experiences! Through the Language Experience Approach, Mr. A will teach your child to identify and read many of the most common words he or she is already using. While some of the specific skills associated with reading may still be out of reach for your child, we can definitely build a solid foundation now. The greatest educational gift we can offer young children is a solid foundation in literacy. Virtually every other subject taught in school rests upon a child's ability to read. Generally speaking, good students are good readers, and good readers are good students. While learning is still a time of wonder...before the pressures of school begin, let us share our love of reading with your child. Don't miss out on this wonderful opportunity! Small groups of Pre-K students are forming now!
